In the QCAD book there are a couple of references to parts / blocks that can be downloaded from the QCAD website (one references over 4,000 blocks, IIRC). I haven't found anything on the site, though. Are they still available or have they been removed?

OK... I had looked through all the top-level menu choices and didn't see a link to it anywhere. So you have go to Tutorials | Part Libraries / Blocks | Working with the Part Library, and then follow the link to https://www.qcad.org/qcad-add-ons.
I now understand why I missed it!
Maybe I'm not (yet!) quite as senile as I was starting to fear...
